Lectors/Proclamadores

What we do
We proclaim the sacred scriptures at Sunday (and some weekday) Masses, at funerals and at other liturgies during the year. Public reading provides an opportunity to draw the assembly into the Word of God and to make clear for them the meaning of the scriptures. Training workshops in effective proclamation are offered twice a year, as needed. Training sessions are for two hours, one evening a week, for three weeks.

How often we meet
We have no meetings; lectors proclaim at Mass on a regular two month schedule. All are encouraged to attend Archdiocesan Workshops.

Time commitment other than meetings
You should prepare your assigned readings thoroughly beforehand, and be at your assigned Mass at least 15 minutes ahead of time. You are responsible for getting your own substitute.

Qué tan frecuentemente nos reunimos
Nos reunimos cuando hay algún cambio en el ministerio que hacemos, y cuando hay alguna enseñanza para mejorar nuestra vida spiritual.

Compromiso de tiempo distinto de las reuniones
Debe practicar las lecturas asignadas antes de Misa y estar en la Misa asignada al menos 15 minutos antes. Usted es responsable de conseguir su propio sustituto.
