What we do
We help the priest or Deacon with the distribution of the Blessed Sacrament during Mass; some of us also take the Eucharist to those confined to their homes, hospitals or other nursing care facilities. All Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion must be active Catholics and approved for this ministry by the Bishop.
How often we meet
We have no regular meetings, but workshops are scheduled several times a year for current and prospective extraordinary ministers.
Time commitment other than meetings
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion serve during their scheduled Masses; those scheduled for the home-bound or hospitalized, allow 2 - 4 hours extra.
